2011 Annual Meeting & Election
The RI Beekeepers' Annual Meeting was held on April 10th at The Pines in North Smithfield.
Our speaker Elizabeth Capaldi-Evans gave a very interesting and engaging lecture about her research into honeybee biology and behavior, and the impact that the new diseases brought by varroa might have on behavior and longevity.
The evening also included the election of officers for the coming year. The officers for the 2011-12 term are as follows:
President: Jeff McGuire
Vice President: Ed Lafferty
Secretary: Carolyn Fluehr-Lobban
Treasurer: Tony DiGiulio
Member-at-Large: Kit Mayers
Congratulations to the officers, and thank-you to the outgoing officers for their service to the Association!
